In Autumn
They’re coming down in showers,
The leaves all gold and red;
They’re covering the little flowers,
And tucking them in bed
They’ve spread a fairy carpet
All up and down the street;
And when we skip along to school,
they rustle ‘neath our feet
Meet the Buckholdt children — Karina and Nate. They are dear to our hearts, as their parents — Ryan and Christy — are some of our closest friends. We are pranksters and adventurers together, and now we are neighbors.
The Buckholdts have welcomed a special baby into their home several days per week — goddaughter Sienna. Her eyes light up when attention is sent her way, she is beyond babbling and starting to say words like “ohhhhh.” This baby? She radiates joy and resilience.
Together, this trio is a well behaved balance of intelligence, wit and innocence. They celebrate fall in front of their home and under a Ginko tree. I promise you that the spectacular foliage needed no adjustment; its hues and saturation were vibrant and served as the perfect scene setter. I’ve suggested to Christy and Ryan that they continue this same scene, year after year as the kids grow. Time will tell, but we admit to the hope that time passes slowly. Kids grow so quickly!
And now, a favorite or two:
Happy Fall, Y’all!
Another round of awesome photos, Heidi!
