The life of a wedding photographer is faced with daily decisions. Mine are clear. I shoot local and worldwide weddings for brides who are detailed, romantic, nostalgic. Sometimes, as in the last two months, these weddings consume me in these same words. In summary, I thank all of my couples — Ashley and Walter included — for waiting patiently for me to blog their wedding.
I posted Ash and Walt’s Lake Lanier engagement session earlier this year. For the wedding itself, they hand selected the Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta hotel. It is sophisticated and modern, but fit so well with Ashley’s exquisite Vera Wang gown.
You can undoubtedly see how much I adored Ash’s gown. Her bouquet was laced with delicate feathers and elegant ribbon. Her mother and father undoubtedly saw her lifetime replay before their eyes as they greeted Walt’s wife-to-be.
Walt’s JCrew suit was light and fit like a glove. His bouttoinere was also accented with feathers. His parents undoubtedly approved. Y’all, picking which “parent” photos to blog was hard for this photographer; the love of family was so strong throughout this wedding!
No doubt, Ash was thinking about her dancing feet when she selected flats for the ceremony and reception! Rockin’ it at The Ritz!
Maid of honor and bridesmaid gowns were all hand-designed, tailored, and styled on the event day by Atlanta-based Sam Haley. Each gown was unique in design, can be reworn to other upscale events, and was comfortable enough to dance in!
There was no denying what this day meant to Ash and Walt. Join me in celebrating a man who realizes what lies before him, the treasure of holding her hand within his own.
Laura MacKenzie of the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta ensured that Ash and Walt had a moment to themselves following the ceremony. She guided them to a private location and surprised them with their own mini reception. And then left…
The opportunities for portrait locations within the hotel were many. Ash and Walt selected their favorites and we focused on those. Guaranteed — every bride and groom that gets married at this executive location will have different choices — and therefore different images. My personal favorite? The room with paintings aplenty…
Ash and Walt rang in the evening with a private reception, away from the main hotel and its guests. They quietly departed to Costa Rica later that night. Although I didn’t join this particular couple on their honeymoon, stay tuned for the photos that they will undoubtedly post on Facebook!
Special thanks to Jade Lee from Lovelee Affairs for her support to the couple — and also to us as photographers. Speaking of, I would be nowhere without the fabulous Aida Krgin, who flew in from New York to shoot this wedding with me.
